WARNING

This release saves *.ctz and *.coz tune files using an updated format. Newly saved files cannot be opened using any previous public versions of EFILive V7.5 or EFILive V8. Attempts to open a new file using old software will result in error $0525 "Tune file is not compatible with firmware" or "Tune file is not compatible with current software version". Any customer that needs to open *.ctz or *.coz files that have been created or saved using this or a later version of the EFILive software, must also use this or a later version.

Note: Existing *.tun, *.ctz and *.coz files saved using previous versions of the EFILive software can be opened by this and later versions of the EFILive software.

Tuners supporting remote customers MUST ensure their customers also update to this latest version of software and firmware to ensure compatibility.

EFILive V7.5

Enhancements:

Additional default options can now be configured in the [Permissions] tab page to automatically set security restrictions when saving files for use with remote AutoCal devices.

CMC2100A boot block patch update is supplied separately for vehicle’s fitted with automatic and manual transmissions.

CMD2200 boot block patch files for automatic and manual transmissions.

     Cal_Link.ini files added for E39, E86, and E92 controllers.

Bug Fixes:

The V7 tune tool was not releasing the connection to FlashScan after performing the "Save for Remote Flashing" option. That meant neither the V8 software nor the V7 Scan Tool could connect to FlashScan until the V7 Tune Tool software was shutdown.

Loading a log file with more than 50,000 frames would sometimes crash the scan tool.

Script creation now handles multiple DTCs with identical names by automatically appending a unique value after each identical name.

Bug fixes in build 276:

Some E92 calibrations were showing incorrect axis labels.

Cummins fuel timing calculator activated for most fuel timing tables. The timing calculator is not supported for stock fuel timing tables in CSP5 tune files.

LML VIN changing was not working.

Allison A50 calibration files were corrupt which meant A50 transmission files could not be loaded and/or edited.

Bug fixes in build 277:

Some E92 calibrations were showing incorrect axis labels.

Segment names displayed in the tuning tool were incorrect for some controllers.

2013+ CME (Cummins) Base and Alt-1 table labelling was back to front.

Logging external PIDs and/or third party PIDs and/or wide band serial PIDs may result in corrupt data logs.

Bug fixes in build 278:

Some E92 calibrations were showing incorrect axis labels.

T87 VIN was not updating correctly.

Cummins CMD/CME VIN was not updating correctly.

Pass-thru data logs corrupted when calculated PIDs were selected.

EFILive V8

Known Issues:

When Black Box Logging PIDs from an ECM and TCM simultaneously and a PID is selected from the transmission controller (TCM) that has an identically named PID in the engine controller (ECM), (i.e. RPM) then when the log file is opened in the V8 software for viewing, the TCM PID will be displayed as if it originated from the ECM. The PID's data will have correctly been logged from the TCM, only its name will appear to indicate that it was logged from the ECM.
Workaround: None. It is a restriction of the *.efi (V7.5 log file format). That restriction will be removed and the TCM PIDs will display their true origin once the V8 scan tool software is available.

Black Box Logging is not supported for Cummins controllers, except for CMB & CMC EDA (Enhanced Data Acquisition) PID selections.

Enhancements:

Added flashing for Cummins 2010-2012 6.7L CM2200 (CMD) controller.

Added flashing for Cummins 2013-2015 6.7L CM2350B (CME) controller.

Added reading and flashing for GM Gas E80 engine controller.

Added reading and flashing for GM Gas/Diesel T87 transmission controller.

When attempting to open *.coz files, a dialog box is now displayed explaining that *.coz files cannot be opened, viewed or modified, instead of just displaying "unsupported file type".

Search criteria in the [F8: Tools]->[F2: Search] window are now case insensitive.

Search results in the [F8: Tools]->[F2: Search] window are now returned file-by-file as they are found, instead of all at once when the search is finished.

New options in Edit->Properties->General->Files/Folders to automatically append a unique four digit ID to the file name each time a file is saved.

The AutoCal Quick Setup option in the [F5 BBX] tab page has been redesigned to make it easier to use.

Multiple validation and consistency checks are now made when saving Quick Setup files to ensure Quick Setup files are configured correctly.

Additional default options can now be configured in the Edit->Properties->Files/Folders to automatically set security restrictions when saving files for use with remote AutoCal devices.

Existing BBX Option.txt file has been split into five new Options_xxx.txt files. Each file defines a group of controllers with similar characteristics.

Added option to update *.ctz and *.coz tune files to latest version on the [F8: Tools] tab page (and removed the old *.ctd to *.ctz bulk file conversion).

Added auto-lock support for LS1B and E40 controllers.

The VIN, OS and Serial Number of the target controller is displayed when reading or flashing controllers.

The [F4: OBD]->[F2: Controller] window displays the controller’s security seed.

When flashing a controller with a corrupt serial number the flash is allowed to continue if the FlashScan device has a stream license for the target controller.

When full-flashing an LS1B controller with a corrupt serial number the corrupt serial number is corrected during the full-flash.

Increased [F5: BBX]->[F6: Quick Setup] file limit from 5 to 10.

Added warning to [F5: BBX]->[F6: Quick Setup] if total file size exceeds 6MB.

Master License now displayed in the main Scan and Tune window and in the [F8: Tools] -> [F2: Search] search results.

Show release notes when the software is first run after installation.

Added new option Properties->General->Display->Sort Controller Selection Lists Alphabetically.

Added new sample dashboards to suit Cummins and Duramax data logging duties.

Enhancements in build 272:

A VIN pattern may be specified under security restrictions to restrict tune files to being flashed only into controllers that have a matching VIN.

Bug Fixes:

T43, T76 and A50 controllers' serial numbers were being reported incorrectly.

Deleting a controller selection in the [F5: BBX] window could cause an "Access Violation".

Loading certain data log files in V8 could cause an "Access Violation".

E86 (LML) *.bin file loading in V7.5 was failing.

Calibration labels for some E86 (LML) calibrations have been corrected.

When black box flashing T43, T76 and A50 controllers that had previously been VIN licensed, the VIN license was no longer being recognized.

E54 (LB7), E60 (LLY) and AL5 controllers now show N/A for the serial number (instead of an incorrect/corrupt value) because the serial number cannot be retrieved successfully due to a firmware fault in each of those controllers.

Setting a controller serial number security restriction for AL5 tune files will always fail to flash, returning error $0530.

Opening a scan file in V8 and then displaying file info (Ctrl+I), then closing the window, then re-opening the Scan window again, displaying file info again (Ctrl+I) would fail with "Access violation".

After changing comments in a tune file using the V8 software then closing the window, you are not prompted to save the changes. The changes were discarded without warning.

The link PIDs for E38 calibration B5108 are transposed.

The PID EOPS (Engine Oil Pressure Sensor voltage) is not displayed when loading log files into the V8 Scan Tool.

The Calculated PID function “sum()” was not returning the correct value when summing PIDs’ values.

Enabled [Save] button after reading device settings on the [F6: Devices] tab page.

Fixed version/build number in V8 software.

Bug fixes in build 270:

In the V8 [F5: BBX]->[F6: Quick Setup] window, the name of the currently loaded quick setup file was not displayed correctly.

Updating FlashScan/AutoCal configuration files using the [Check Firmware] button on the main V8 window, then disconnecting and reconnecting FlashScan/AutoCal was not correctly updating some files.

Black Box Logging for GM controllers would sometimes fail to start.

Serial wide band O2 data was not being logged.

Bug fixes in build 271:

Logging external PIDs and/or third party PIDs and/or wide band serial PIDs may result in corrupt data logs.

Bug fixes in build 272:

Fixed buttons’ image sizes in [F8: Tools]->[F3: Search]->[Browse].

Names of files being copied to FlashScan or AutoCal may now contain commas.

FlashScan/AutoCal

Enhancements:

When using AutoCal in “Simple Menu” mode, tune files tagged as “Cal-Flash-Only” now appear only in the “Prog” menu and tune files tagged as “Full-Flash-Only” now appear only in the “Full” menu.

“Record All Diags” now captures each controllers’ serial number and for Cummins controllers the Calibration ID.

(FlashScan only): F3: Diagnostics -> F1: Display Info -> F1: Display VIN/Info now also displays the controller’s serial number and for Cummins controllers the Calibration ID.

(AutoCal, advanced menu only): new options are available: Scan Tool->Display SN and for Cummins controllers “Scan Tool->Display Cal ID”.

Bug Fixes:

The "Record All Diags" option now returns the correct OS for CMC controllers.

CSP5 switching would fail if a transmission controller was detected before the engine controller.

Bug fixes in version 78:

Logging external PIDs and/or third party PIDs and/or wide band serial PIDs may result in corrupt data logs.

3rd Party Integration

Wideband controllers:

Added support for the Ecotrons ALM wide band controller serial interface.
